Her mother, Elizabeth, and Edwards parents and brother all lived with him, presumably lo look after the children. He eventually was the Victualler at The Plough as well as the village blacksmith and also the first Parish Clerk. (A very busy man.)

They rented Eastfield Farm for the sum of £80 per annum and in their contract were allowed to keep two horses and one servant in the house.

There are still seven Councilors :- John Boasman, who farms Vicarage Farm like his father before him, with his son Adrian, Annie Ives, a pheasant breeder , Bob Laycock, a HGV Driver, Steve Martine, a Joiner, Kathleen Fisher, an office administrator, and Paul Greaves, Fred Dearing, a bus driver for EYMS, is the present chairperson. Hayley Harvatt is the parish clerk and can be contacted 01964 614952

According to the records Parish Councilors still appear to be dealing with very similar items on their agenda but, of course, there will be far more rules and regulations for them to be governed by.

The Parish Council sponsor the Women's Institute Summer Show each year and a member of the Council presents the trophies.
