THE PLOUGH INN

The Plough Inn was originally a coaching inn at the end of the 16th century. It is one of the few remaining Wattle and Daub buildings remaining in Holderness being constructed of cobbles and mud/straw, interspaced with cow dung.

Pat Robinson and her husband Ian bought the premises in May 1986 after first coming to see the property in early February of that year. The property was run down and very cold and Pat and Ian set about altering it, but still retaining the character.

The pub now has letting rooms [en-suite] and a games room.

Pat's husband Ian had always been keen on sport and because of this, the pub is very sport oriented with Withernsea Rugby Union being played behind the beer garden. There is also a cricket team as well as Withernsea Harriers running club. The pub also has darts teams who play on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is a Dominos Team and the Withernsea and District Homing society, and the Plough Manor Anglers are based there.

Pat and Ian where also keen to support local charities, with Withernsea Hospital being the latest to benefit through quiz's etc.

In 2005 Steve and Sue Martine bought the Plough with their daughter Rachelle Maynard and her husband Darren.
